WINE DIRECTOR OF BUBBLE BATH, DIVE BAR & TENDERONI's @ HIGH STREET PLACE
*DELIVERIES BEGIN OCTOBER 11TH*
If you haven’t ventured into High Street Place in Downtown Boston, you must. The bustling energy is beat only by the unbelievable selection of things to eat and drink. Not least of which come from Tenderoni’s, Dive Bar, and this month’s feature, Bubble Bath. Charlie Gaeta has his plate full (literally) with directing the beverage lists of all three spots. But this month he’s talking about all things Champagne.
Too often we see our favorite sparkling wines reserved for special occasions. But with the variety of bubbles made available to us, we think that’s a shame! As always, we hope you enjoy this month’s wines, which are a snapshot of all three restaurants. But know that one of Boston’s best somm’s just named pizza his new favorite pairing with Champagne.
T H E W I N E S
Punta Crena, Lumassina Frizzante - Light bodied & fresh. Seawater, passionfruit, & Marcona almonds. A mouthful of briny goodness. This Lumassina is such a wild ride. Pair with Dive Bar’s Crispy Popcorn Shrimp.
Domaine Pepière, Le Pepie, Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine- Light bodied & fresh. Honey & chamomile. Honeycomb and green tea all over the place. This is perfectly balanced Musadet. Pair with 1/2 Dozen Wellfleets or a Shrimp Po' Boy from Dive Bar.
Franck Peillot, Bugey - Medium bodied & perfectly poised. Tart cherries, Craisins, red plum. This Mondeuse knows herself. Her long stinging finish is unforgettable. Pair with Tenderoni's Mushroom & Cheese Pizza.
Gail Wines, Doris Cabernet Sauvignon - Full bodied & restoring. Ripe figs, vanilla bean, treacle. Doris has us longing for lower temperatures. This Cab is ever so cozy. Pair with Tenderoni's Chicken Parm or a nice Bolognese.
