Each month, we get the chance to explore the world of wine through the eyes—and palates—of a different wine director in the Boston area. It's our way of celebrating the vibrant restaurant community that we’re lucky to be part of, and this month, we’re especially excited to turn the spotlight on a new neighbor.
Shybird just landed in Fenway with Wine Director Hannah Carroll at the helm. The space is warm and lively, with a thoughtful menu and a team that radiates genuine hospitality. It feels like the kind of place you hope moves in next door. We often talk about how wine brings people together, and this month’s feature is an example of how that happens on a neighborhood level. We’re most inspired by the places that feel personal, that want to be part of the community, not just part of the scene. We hope you can visit Hannah and her team soon!

Zahel, Irmhilde Grüner Veltliner - Light & dreamy. Balanced salinity, incredible finish. Lean, clean, and incredibly easy to drink. A fast favorite. It's like drinking fresh air. Pair with Shybird's Roast Cauliflower & Cheddar Fondue.
City Limits, Chardonnay - Medium bodied & punchy. Zippy, charming, textbook chardonnay. Classic West Coast Chardonnay with an extra spring in its step. She's our new bestie. Pair with Shybird's Ranch Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Olga Raffault, Chinon - Medium bodied & herbaceous. Cinnamon bark, fresh tobacco, wonderful structure. Broody and tannic with a finish that lingers. Why is Cab Franc so good? Pair with Shybird's Smashburger or Bavette Steak.
Domaine les Capreoles, l'Amourgandise - Medium bodied & charming. Black currant, violets, way too drinkable. Gamay with a great personality. Almost too pretty to drink, almost... Pair with Shybird's Piri Piri Chicken & Fried Artichokes.
